  • Three Ladies Dancing: a short dance film with live performance. directed by melissa west; music and photography composed by tom bones. premiere: december 16 2010, everything goes book cafe.
  • Girl Dancing in the Sun: a variation of People in the Sun, based on the images of Edward Hopper. Premiered at Snug Harbor, Council for Arts and Humanities 2010 Gala (Oct. 21 2010) Music: J. B. Bach
  •  They Taste Good to Her: a ten minute solo featuring a blanket of apples and a girl. premiered at Corson Gallery (March 2010, Second Saturdays); Hunter College (April 2010); Triskelion Arts as part of WAXworks (June 2010). Music: Yoko Ono + John Lennon

  • So Sweet to Me: A collaboration between m. west and joshua sotomayor. Featured duet performance with live music by J. Sotomayor (voice/harmonica/guitar). Premiered: September 2009, Nicu's Spoon Theater (NYC).
  • New Work: a silent exploration of space and walking patterns for two dancers. Premiered: August 31 2009, Staten Island Modern Festival; Dancers: m. west and chen shoham.
  • Melissa West does Lou Reed: Featured as part of the Soft Movement clothing launch, this dance plays with narcissistic dance sweetness dressed like butterscotch candy. Melissa West is Lou Reed, and takes quite a walk on the wild side. Premiered: July 2009, The Living Theater. Music: Lou Reed
  • Shoes and Songs: A collaboration between Sotomayor/West. Envision an old waterfront warehouse art gallery floor covered with shoes: from sneakers, platforms, sandals, to stilettos; a play between music and dancer. Premiere: June 2009, Art by the Ferry Festival. Music: Joshua Sotomayor
  • Pictures (A Dance in Four Parts: i. summer interior; ii. girl; iii. people in the sun; iv. by the falls): Four small dances woven together through the narrative arc of the inner dialogue of a girl on the cusp. Inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper and featuring the music of the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Olsi Gjeci (improvisation), and J.B. Bach. Premiere: May 2009, Hunter College Studios.   •  the impressionists do a dance: A short dance musing painters as dancers and things of that nature. Premiere: November 2008, Hunter College Studios. Music: The Books; Dancers: Tommy Baxter, Mary Ellen Carafice, Laura Schubert
  • Ariel: A dance that reads like a spiral inside a woman's mind. Inspired by the poems of Sylvia Plath. Premiere: July 2008, Cromwell Center (Staten Island as part of a festival supporting woman's health and well-being); Music: Janis Joplin, Philip Glass
  • Theseus Rides Away: The dance that started it all. A tale of heartache and tragic mythology. Told from the perspective of Ariadne. A short dance set to the Beatles (although originally set to the Moody Blues). Premiere: April 2008, Lang Theater (NYC); May 2008, Hunter College Studios.
